Seeds of NCAA Tournament Champions

Most champions (29 out of 33) of the NCAA Tournament were 1, 2, or 3-seeds.  If we ignore the first four crazy years of the tournament (since expanding to 64 teams), 27 of the last 29 champs were a 1, 2, or 3-seed.  The following tables show how many times each seed has won the tournament and lists the seed and champ for each year.

Seed # of Champs % of Champs
1 20 61%
2 5 15%
3 4 12%
4 1 3%
5 0 0%
6 1 3%
